Antibiotic exposure during delivery and the first days of life is common but little is known about its long-term health impact. During this presentation, Professor Samuli Rautava elaborates that neonatal antibiotic exposure results in altered gut colonization. Impaired growth during the first 6 years of life has been observed in boys treated with antibiotics in the first days of life.
