This lecture will highlight the importance of good and adequate nutrition (especially for the elderly) to avoid the consequences of a daily caloric deficit occurring in many diseases. A nutritional risk score must be drawn up at an early stage for the corresponding clinical pictures. Throughout a patient case study and practical considerations, the speaker will address how the enteral nutrition can, should or must cover the caloric deficit as well as how to educate HCPs and patients for the acceptance and the initiation of the enteral nutrition as per international guidelines in clinical nutrition
