"This paper summarizes and discusses for the first time the (gaps in) current knowledge, unresolved questions, and future research needs in the area of breastmilk fatty acid (FA) composition.
The authors describe in particular appropriate intake levels of the essential FA linoleic acid (LA) in infant formula and health outcomes in relation to the recently adapted changes in regulations for the addition of LA to infant formula.
